YOUR ENGAGEMENT STORY
We were on holidays in Bali for a friends 30th. Paul had booked a private dinner just us 2 around sunset, there were candles and rose petals, very romantic! After dessert we were having a moment by the balcony and he dropped down to one knee and proposed. I was so surprised as I didn’t think he would bring the ring all that way, little did I know all our friends knew and when we got back to our villa we celebrated with a few drinks

HAIR & MAKEUP
My beautiful sister in law did my hair, my hair is straight naturally and have always loved wavy beach curls so that’s what we went for. My makeup was done by non other than Liv Lundelius - she is amazing! So delicate and soft and was a pleasure to work with on the day. I went for a natural bronzed look with stand out eyes, all the products Liv uses are natural products which worked so well for my skin
PREPARATION – COUNTDOWN BEGINS
We stayed in the area the night before so getting ready would be nice and easy, as we didn’t have a bridal party I got ready with my mum and sister in law. My brothers also came along to have a few pre-drinks to settle the nerves. I had button holes made for them which I pinned on their jackets, it was my way of including them on the day. My sister in law surprised me with a really thoughtful gift - a small photo of my dad to tie around my bouquet - this was so special to me, something I will always remember
Paul bought my engagement ring from Natalie Marie - this is where it all started for us and quite symbolic as we chose palm beach as our wedding location. I absolutely love my engagement ring, it is their signature solitaire with a fine round rose gold band and white gold setting. We naturally went back and chose our wedding rings from there aswell. I chose the half queenie in rose gold with champagne diamonds and Paul chose their classic half round ring in white gold in a matt finish.
I knew from the beginning that I wanted something different, something I could potentially wear again. Through my search I came across Rue De Seine, I scrolled through their website and I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw the Moonlight Valentina gown from their Moonlight Magic collection - it was love at first sight! It has a very 70s bohemian luxe vibe, this set the scene for the rest of the styling and theme for our wedding. The billowing sleeves, the silver beaded mesh, the open split down the front of the dress - just amazing! Not to mention the beautiful mesh train embroidered with small delicate flowers throughout just made it that extra special.
My dress had a split down the middle and were going to be seen so they had to be just as amazing as the dress. I found the perfect pair by Loeffler Randall, I wore their signature penny knot mule in silver. It was made from such a comfortable fabric with a chunky heel, I wore them all day and night!
JEWELLERY & ACCESSORIES
When I bought my dress I wanted to add abit of colour through the accessories, I have always loved turquoise and gold together so during my search I came across the Australian jewellery designer Christie Nicolaides. I love big earrings and she has so many unique pieces, I was spoilt for choice! I couldn’t go past the Carmela earrings in turquoise. The combination of gold starfish and turquoise was exactly what I was looking for - a gold starfish at the ear, dropping to 2 turquoise stones circled by fine white pearls.
THE FLOWERS & BOUQUETS
I had a vague idea on what I wanted for my bouquet when chatting to Rychelle ( Our stylist from Lovestoned Styling) who put me on to the flower posse. I love her work, her style and the blush tones were in keeping with our theme. My bouquet consisted of ivory and dusty pink roses with a feature dahlia flower and a single white orchid. We also had a few button holes made for mine and Paul’s brothers which added a special touch to the day.
GROOM + GROOMSMEN ATTIRE
Paul wore navy chinos from Industrie, a stone coloured blazer from Politix, ivory collared shirt from Hugo Boss and his shoes were from The Iconic
WEDDING LOCATION/ VENUE
Paul and I had a strong view on what we were looking for in a venue and ceremony, Paul and I are love the beach something on the water was a must. The Boathouse was mentioned to me by a friend, we booked a meeting one weekend and instantly fell in love! For the amount of guests we wanted and the relaxed vibe we were going for, the boathouse palm beach ticked all the boxes. The venue has amazing waterviews which really makes you feel connected to the water. As for the ceremony location we chose a quiet and fairly private beach nearby - Snappermans beach, it felt like our own little piece of paradise.
Our photographer actually drove my mum and I to the ceremony which was so lovely of him. As for getting home, I was given a recommendation to contact Revel Drive who use Tesla cars. They were fantastic! It was the first time we had driven in a tesla car, what a great experience. We also hired buses for our guests to transport them from the ceremony to the venue and home.
WEDDING PLANNER/ WEDDING STYLIST
During my research for styling vendors I came across Lovestoned Styling, Rychelle just got me and the style I was going for, it was a perfect match! Rychelle styled the whole ceremony – rows of hardwood bench seating was used for guests and three circular jute rugs as the centerpiece for Paul and I with two floral arrangements either side of us. We also had a drinks station with scattered cane furniture for guests to enjoy after the ceremony. Rychelle also organised the flowers and signage. She did an incredible job, it all came together beautifully and looked amazing!
• Ceremony/Reception Venue - THEME & STYLE
From the beginning Paul and I wanted something relaxed and causal, a big party really and we did just that! The style and theme for the ceremony was inspired by my dress and the location, we went for a boho luxe feel with neutral tones and blush accents. We kept the styling very simple as the view played a big part for setting the scene.
We chose Claire Belford who is from the area, Paul and I instantly clicked with Claire, she was very personable, professional and very easy to work with. She had a calm presence which set the tone for the ceremony and made it personalised to us which Paul and I both loved.
Paul and I wrote our vows, we wanted to make it more personable and meaningful, it was definitely worth it!
Walking down the aisle - Elliot: Over and Over
Recessional - Broods: Full Blown Love
First Dance - Matt Corby: Miracle Love
We used the very talented Alex Marks, I first found him through the boathouse supplier recommendations, I saw his website and fell in love!! His work is truly AMAZING!! Alex really captures the moment you’re in which Paul and I both loved.
RECEPTION DÉCOR & DETAILS
As the Boathouse is already styled so beautifully we didn’t have to do anything to it at all, the reception was held on the back deck with a relaxed cocktail lounge setting. When the sky was changing colour and slowly moving to the night the lantons really set the mood, it was magic!
Holly and Kyle from Sydney Acoustic Duo played at the ceremony and for most of the reception which set the scene, they were fantastic! And to get everyone moving we had a DJ play at night which got the party started!
FOOD & BEVERAGES
We had a canapé/cocktail style wedding with a variety of food which came out all night. No one was left hungry! Towards the end of the night we had a huge cheese platter which was delicious
YOUR MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT
There were so many it’s so hard to choose! When my sister in law surprised me with my special gift, my mum walking me down the aisle and seeing Paul’s face when I arrived were definitely some of the many highlights.
HONEYMOON TIME BABY!!!
We stayed in the area for a couple of days after the wedding to keep the high going but our actual honeymoon has been booked for later this year in Byron Bay.
