HOW WE MET
We just so happened to both swipe right on Tinder and about 2 weeks later we met up for our first drink. A few cancelled dates later we finally managed to have our second date, I don’t think either of us expected anything to happen because we were both so busy at the time thankfully we made time and before I knew it he turned up on my doorstep one day with a bunch of flowers asking me to be his girlfriend..
YOUR ENGAGEMENT STORY
We had planned a holiday to Fiji - the perfect setting for a proposal but I tried to not think about it until Scott obliviously dropped so many clues that he might be proposing it was so hard for me to not think about it, once we got to Fiji i forgot about it and we had a great time, about 4 days in we decided to go and watch the sunset from a little point of the island we were on. We were admiring the scenery before I suggested we go and grab a drink but Scott insisted we stay there (at this point I realised what was about to happen!) Then out of nowhere a boatload of locals cruise past and yell “BULLA” ( hello in Fijian) which started Scott as he was about to get down on one knee, it was hilarious, as soon as they had gone he asked me and was down on one knee, all I can remember was saying yes and then grabbing the ring from Scott’s hand haha.
WHAT MARRIAGE MEANS TO YOU
We’re a team. Supporting each other in life with an endless supply of love, laughing until we cry & snuggles. It’s brought us closer together, there is something truly special that's hard to describe about being married.
PREPARATION
We spent the morning relaxing at The Barn I was staying in at The Bower - we had bellini’s and a grazing platter and I had my fave songs playing while we got ready. One of my bridesmaids gave me a card & gift asking me to be her daughters god-mother - this kicked off the emotions for the day!

THE DRESS
My dress I found via Sydney Designer Christie Nicole Bridal, one of her previous brides was selling a custom creation that I had laid eyes on & loved so much so that I got in contact with the previous bride immediately to organise to try it on. It was love at first sight or first fitting i should say. The detailed beading & 3d floral lace on the dress was second to none, it was such a different style with the sheer train made it modern but still bridal. My vision was to have a sustainable yet stylish wedding - so a second hand dress helped contribute to our vision!

BRIDE’S SHOES
Clear open toe block heel from Tony Bianco
BRIDESMAIDS DRESSES
I gave the girls a colour pallette and let them pick their own because i wanted something they could wear again and feel beautiful in rather than a one style for all.
WEDDING RINGS
Engagement ring was designed by a family friend, I wanted an oval Morganite ( my maiden name is Morgan, seemed fitting) which was set in white gold with 2 small diamonds. Wedding bands were from Natalie Marie & Sarah & Sebastian - both white gold, mine has a tiny diamond on a fine band.

HAIR
Down in waves with a Mantilla Veil, Jess Furlan knew exactly what to do!
MAKEUP
Bronze tones, I don’t wear much makeup and wanted to stay relatively natural - Phoebe from The Future Mrs absolutely nailed it.
FLOWERS & BOUQUETS
Vintage with modern. Neutral Tones. I wanted the old mix with the new which is why I opted for dried florals (cotton & natives) with some fresh blush roses & peonies - Estelle our florist created absolute art with our arrangements.
GROOMSMEN ATTIRE
Country Road beige linen jackets with navy slim fit pants. Tan loafers. Floral pocket square for the groom & polka dot for the groomsmen.

STATIONERY/INVITATIONS
I designed all of our invites & our wedding website, we wanted to keep the wedding as paperless as possible.
TRANSPORT
A vintage convertible chevy malibu, we also left bridal transport to the last minute and booked a minibus - turns out that was way more fun than the convertible, it was like a party bus!

CELEBRANT
Cara Gallagher - Modern Love Celebrant. We chose her because we watched a few videos of her in action and she had a calm and warm vibe about her. We weren't wrong because she really created a warm, loving and relaxed ceremony for us, one of the best decisions we made, she’s a super lovely person too.
WEDDING LOCATION/ VENUE
The Secret Garden, Byron Bay - A hidden little oasis in the middle of Byron Bay. Both ceremony & reception was held here.
THEME/STYLE
We wanted an Island Luxe style with a touch of vintage woven throughout but with an eco conscious undertone, we were really trying to minimise waste and re-use or source locally from independent vendors.

PHOTOGRAPHY
Amelia Fullarton, I found her through Instagram and love her photography style, it felt a little high fashion shoot but still classic and dramatic.
VIDEOGRAPHY
We wanted a fun video capturing candid moments through the day, Woven Motion did an incredible job and delivered a video as we had envisioned.
WEDDING PLANNER/ WEDDING STYLIST
Yes, she was a must-have. Kiera Ryan from Creative Weddings Byron Bay.
CEREMONY DÉCOR/ RECEPTION DÉCOR
The venue set the scene for a lush tropical feel and we wanted to keep within that vibe by adding

FAVORS /BONBONNIERE
Espresso Martini’s - one of our fave cocktails ever, we had an endless supply flowing after dinner.
CAKE
My sister made a vanilla sponge with jam and cream, it was delicious! She styled it with some fresh flowers, it was simple and beautiful.
WEDDING SONGS
I walked the aisle to “Real Love Baby” by Father John Misty - a very nontraditional choice but it suited Scott and I perfectly as we love this song. We danced our first dance to Coming Home by Leon Bridges.
ENTERTAINMENT
We had DJ Brad Dymock - he was totally on our wavelength with music, he created a relaxed chill vibe which then turned into some old vibes that really lit the dance floor - we were dripping in sweat from dancing (it was also very humid!)

FOOD & BEVERAGES
Cocktail style. Eat Drink our caterer did a rustic grazing platter & canapés to start. Dinner was a Mexican taco fiesta followed by Wheel & Spoon with their gelato cart for Dessert.
HONEYMOON
We had a mini moon and road tripped the east coast back to Sydney - we are heading to Croatia, Greece & Italy soon.
STANDOUT VENDORS
Kiera from Creative Weddings, she was so lovely & easy to work with. I didn’t understand the value of a wedding planner until i really needed one - she literally saved the day for us.
Cara our celebrant, she is just amazing at what she does and made us feel so comfortable.
A MEMORABLE MOMENT
Walking down the aisle with Dad, I had no idea how I would react when I saw Scott - as soon as our eyes locked we both started crying, it was overwhelming in the best possible way!
ONE THING I WISH I KNEW BEFORE I STARTED MY WEDDING PLANS…
The real cost and stress of a wedding is more than we expected, we thought we had everything under control until our budget blew out and our guest list expanded...
IF I COULD GIVE OTHER BRIDES TO BE ONE PIECE OF ADVICE…
Enlist someone to help you with the finer details closer to the day - there are so many things you won’t think of that a professional will.
